Corporate Director of Logistics, Xellia Pharmaceuticals

The position

To head up the Corporate Logistics team, Xellia Pharmaceuticals is currently seeking a seasoned Supply Chain leader, who can effectively drive logistics and supply planning across the company. The Director, Logistics will be responsible for leading, managing and developing the Logistics function which currently consists of 15 people in Copenhagen and Budapest and with extended functional responsibility across entities in Norway and China.

The specific areas of responsibility include


  • Production planning and coordination between Xellias production sites and contract manufacturing capacity
  • Leading both strategic, tactical and operational supply planning and providing input to 12-month rolling forecast together with demand planning.
  • Driving improvements in Xellias planning and reporting tools and processes
  • Contributing to wider Supply Chain Strategy initiatives and projects


The Director, Logistics reports to the COO / VP Supply Chain and will be a member of the Supply Chain leadership team. The Director, Logistics will play a critical role in the continued positive and ambitious transformation of Supply Chain in Xellia Pharmaceuticals.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate has a masters-level degree in business, engineering or similar, ideally with an emphasis on supply chain management.

Some of the key qualifications for the role include


  • Strong technical skills from leading a professional logistics function and with solid insights into operational and strategic use of both MRP and ERP systems.
  • Ideally with experience from the pharmaceutical industry – but experience from other industries such as medical devices, chemicals or even FMCG could also be relevant
  • Experience from working with logistics at a strategic level and ideally with a wider supply chain exposure
  • Willingness to stay in touch with the details while still maintaining the strategic overview and ability to prioritise efforts
  • Experience from driving optimization projects, possibly with training in Lean Six Sigma
  • Written and spoken English is mandatory, Danish is not mandatory
