Seeking a talented and resourceful lawyer with 10+ years of experience in Contract Law, who works independently and aspires to be part of the green energy transition. Well-funded high-growth company with first plants nearing FID, Final Investment Decision and more in the pipeline.
Our client is an ambitious company with a fast pace and aggressive timeline. Arcadia is building the world’s first eFuels Plant dedicated to produce net zero CO2 eSAF for the Aviation industry. Having recently closed investor funding for development capital and an early investor at SPV/plant level the first plant is currently in FEED and nearing FID for construction in Denmark and will be in operation in late 2026. Another site in UK has received development funding and a third site in US is currently being developed. Arcadia is committed to build, own, and operate these plants and develop and build more worldwide.
The position
Working closely with the Chief Legal Officer as well as internal stakeholders and external partners, including tier 1 banks, legal firms, engineering partners and investors. You will be involved in a wide range of legal affairs across Arcadia eFuels and will be an integral part of an international team.
The core responsibilities in this role include:
- Internal global expert and legal responsibly for EPC, raw material and offtake contracts. This includes drafting and working with business development and technical teams to finalize term sheets and contracts as well as working with 3rd party legal firms for their input.
- Responsible for legal aspects regarding the Danish site and Arcadia’s Danish law expert
- Drafting and processing NDA’s (investors, banks, vendors etc.).
- From time to time as need an interest arise:
- Assist on financing contracts and working with professional financial advisory companies and top-tier external legal advisors.
- Corporate and HR legal assistance as well as other tasks controlling or regulatory tasks.
Being a small team, you’ll also from time to time have the opportunity to work more broadly on a range of topics including legal research, regulatory training of key staff across the company, and bringing investments to closing. Arcadia eFuels is truly global company and is incorporated in multiple countries. Hence, you will be involved in legal matters under numerous jurisdictions and legal systems, mainly Denmark/EU, UK and USA.
Ideal profile
As ideal candidate for the role, you have a Danish law degree and a particularly strong understanding of contract law in practice. You are probably employed as contract lawyer or in-house legal counsel in a relevant company with complex international contracts and substantial regulation. Alternatively, you might also work at a law firm but with a passion for green energy transition and a desire to move in-house for a role like this. Since Arcadia operates on the frontier of global energy policy, it is beneficial if you have had exposure to EU or US energy policy regulation – or at least have an appetite to learn more.
Key Requirements:
- Passionate about eFuels/energy transition and a degree in Danish law or commercial law.
- 10+ years relevant experience conceiving and finalizing EPC, offtake and raw materials contracts together with sales, procurement, and technical experts.
- An ability to independently evaluate jurisdiction and conceive contract drafts based on your experience and resourcefulness.
- Excellent command of English language in writing and verbally since all contracts and most negotiations are conducted in English.
- An independent and efficient working style, sense of urgency, and ability to get things done.
